There are some cursed with having the tool and meter as dominant trait getting from both mom (remodeled the old house before "This Old House" was in vogue)and dad. Some times you can't pry the tools out my hands as I always feel I can do it better and want to learn how by doing. Often I would be better (and quicker) to have another more focus tool jockey do the project as I can learn by observing and they do not over think it.
I have past it to my children (my wife is pretty with a battery drill and tire iron)and it is a joy to watch my kids use the these traits to explore different projects.
