Free is good. It is actually a point that Pam coaches upon.
Pamela Slim is author of the website Escape From Cubicle Nation. I originally discovered Pam on a
Starship mission. And then I wrote about her How Do You Introduce Yourself? article. I titled it A
Timeless Post. It's one of the best I've ever read!
Pam conducted a free conference Q & A coaching call this past Wednesday. She encourages participants to ask her a question about starting a business or leaving your corporate job.
The overall theme this month was, how do I figure out what I want to do? Pam also had advice for non-cubicle corporate dwellers who are thinking of escape and timely info on co-working.
Here is my perception of Pam: Insanely articulate; acute insight; talented listener. There had to five or six of us who asked her "how do I figure out what I want to do?" Each question was asked in a slightly different context but at the root, meant the same. Pam provided various methods for all. The richness of her knowledge has caused me to sign up for next month's call. I suggest you do too!
But wait, there's more! Pam has written a book titled Escape From Cubicle Nation. I would've ordered the book after the first post of Pam's that I read. I most definitely would've ordered the book after following her for two and half years. And I really for sure would've ordered the book after sitting in on this last conference call. As a matter of fact, I did! You should too!

In order to obtain the most value from Pam's call when called upon to ask your question:
- Prepare in advance
- State your background very briefly
- Get directly to your question
- Be mindful of others
I plan to join in on May's call but, because I've had a chance to ask a question, will be there to enjoy the conversation and learn from others.
