But yes, it is about the message, the writing being secondary. I believe that if you have something to say, and you want to say it in writing, then you need to get it down...irregardless of your writing mechanics or lack thereof. This especially holds true in the ease-of-entry blogosphere where the warden of grammar has no jurisdiction.
There are people however, who care a great deal about the mechanics of their writing and smoothness of their style. They must have their nouns and verbs in proper order and will not hestitate to spank an adverb that gets unruly. Their writing flows smooth and sweet. And then there are those who not only make it flow, but unravel messages of grand meaning, entertainment, impact and humor for all to enjoy.
It's members of this last group that I would like to point out in my Good Writing category. Although I am no more qualified to judge good writing than I am to perform brain surgery, I will offer samples or link to authors whose work deserves the recognition.
